For most of human history a mother was surrounded. Grandmothers, aunts, neighbours, older children — a village that noticed when she was struggling and stepped in without being asked.
That village didn't disappear because anyone stopped caring. It disappeared because families moved cities, households got smaller, and everyone got busier. What's left is a group chat and a lot of guilt about asking.
Haven rebuilds it deliberately — small enough that people know your name, close enough that help can actually arrive.

The idea behind Lend a Hand
Three things happen in Haven, over and over. Everything else in the app exists to make these easier.
Childcare, a school run, groceries, a meal, or just someone to talk to. Choose how urgent it is and which of your villages can see it.
Free on Thursday afternoon? Say so. Lend a Hand lets you post your availability so anyone nearby who needs it can reach out privately.
Your villages are the people you'll keep seeing — at the park, at pickup, at the Thursday walk. Local, verified, and capped small on purpose.
Every act of kindness earns points and unlocks a piece of the Haven Puzzle. Complete it and those points turn into real local perks.
Not another feed to scroll. Haven brings mothers, neighbours and local supporters into small, trusted circles that make everyday life easier.

A village has a name, a neighbourhood, guidelines its members agreed to, and admins who moderate. Four kinds to choose from.
The most useful village is usually the closest one. Location villages are built around a neighbourhood, so an offer of help is a five-minute walk rather than a nice thought.
You can see who's in a village before you join, and every member is verified.
Homeschooling, baby-led weaning, twins, cloth nappies, running with a stroller. Interest villages gather the people who actually want that conversation.
Say hi, ask for advice, or plan a meetup — then take it offline.
There is no single right way to raise a child, and a village shouldn't pretend otherwise. Parenting-style villages mean advice arrives from people who share your approach.
Guidelines are agreed at creation: be kind, support each other, keep it local, respect privacy.
Wellness villages sit closest to the Wellness Hub — physical support, nervous system regulation, movement, sleep. Quieter rooms, for the harder weeks.
Every practitioner who publishes has their credentials verified first.
Help a neighbour and you earn Kindness Points. Collect the seven pieces of the Haven Puzzle and they turn into something you can actually use — starting with perks from businesses on your own high street.
Anyone can take part — mothers, partners, grandparents, students, neighbours.
Complete acts of kindness to unlock each piece. Anyone in your village can earn them — not just mothers.
Haven shows what's happening near you today, how far it is, and how many spots are left — then your village helps you actually get there.

A village needs more than one kind of person in it. The grandmother with a free afternoon, the neighbour with a car, the student who loves kids, the dad on parental leave, the local business that wants to give something back.
Haven — A Mother's Village is a digital community and information platform where help is only a message away. The goal is to build a village around mothers and families and help them navigate the most important and challenging times in their life — real community, both online and locally. Joining Haven and taking part in your village is free and will stay free. The app is also a resource centre for parents and caregivers, and the Wellness Hub is a separate optional subscription with free preview content.
We welcome all community members. Haven is open to anyone who wants to offer or receive support in parenthood or caregiving — parents, caregivers, grandparents, students who want to volunteer time, local community members, and businesses who want to share resources to support maternal and family wellness.
Unlike large platforms, Haven focuses on small trusted villages that your family can build within local and digital community. Every member and every business providing resources is verified before joining, and your privacy is always protected — making it a safe space for real connection. There is no advertising and no algorithmic feed, so nothing is ranked to keep you scrolling.
We believe building a village — and being a villager for your family — should be free for any community member. The primary free features include building and joining community villages, messaging villagers, creating events and local meet-ups, the Lend a Hand and Request Help features, the Haven Kindness Puzzle Challenge, parent & caregiver resources, and emergency hotlines for mothers in crisis.
The Wellness Hub is Haven's optional subscription — affordable access to resources and services to help mothers, fathers, parents and caregivers heal physically, emotionally and mentally. It is built on three pillars of support: Body — physical support, recovery, sleep, nutrition, hormone balance, Mind — nervous system regulation, mental health, trauma release and Connection — community, healing, identity support. Many of our vetted Canadian partner organizations focus their resources and services on these three pillars.
